Case: Leadership Support for First-Time CEO

Context: A first-time CEO stepped into her final career role at a manufacturing business owned by a multinational corporation where she had spent her entire career.

Challenge: Despite warnings from the CHRO about the company’s serious challenges, the CEO hesitated to take decisive action, unsure of how to initiate a turnaround. An assessment was positioned as a way for her to get to know the senior team better, and become more familiar with their challenges.

Approach: We conducted a thorough assessment of the senior team, revealing significant strategic misalignments, a dysfunctional finance department, and poor data-driven communication. We recommended changes in team structure, talent development initiatives, and gave the CEO direct guidance on leveraging her experience to lead the necessary turnaround. Each team member received developmental feedback to help them better collaborate with the executive leadership team during the transition.

Results: The team feedback session served as the starting point for the CEO’s turnaround journey, empowering her to confidently lead the organization through its challenges.
